It's Memorial Day weekend. I spent part of yesterday visiting the graves of my family.
Next to my Grandfather is the grave of his brother, Edward "Ted" Lincoln McCracken. PFC 1st class of the 90th Div. 357th Infantry. Killed in action in Normady, 1944.
Not knowing any more than that, I did some research on the 357th, which landed on Utah beach on D-Day +1.

Not having the exact date of his death, probability indicates he was killed near La Fiere, France on June 10th or 11th, 1944, as it was the battle with the heaviest casualties of the 357th before moving out of the Normandy region.

The 90th Division was known as the "Tough (h)Ombres" which was taken from their insignia of T-O, meaning Texas-Oklahoma.
